Here is two clips from Nike’s pre “EURO 2008” soccer campaign themed: “Take it to the next level”.

The first one is the new Nikefootball tv ad directed by Guy Ritchie and feat. some of Europe’s most

famous soccer players. The clip shows the rise of a young player through several games competiting against Europe’s best. The whole clip is shot from the subjective view of the player…

Video: Nike “Take it to the next level – 1:57 min

Kind of reminds me of one of my favourite music videos by “The ProdigySmack my bitch up” (carefull explicit content).

The ad leads you to Nike’s latest football portal on the web.

On of the highlights is the promotion for Cesc Fàbregas new Sky Sports Live Show.

As a kick-off teaser Fàbregas handels a burning football (pretty cool!)

This is a really cool project that tries to make people aware of the fact that even though there is a lot things that make us different at the same time there are many things that we have in common…including only this one planet. This expressed thorugh the common love of films around the globe.

Today, on May 10, 2008 Pangea Day will run in several countries around the globe broadcasting an array of films, music performances (incl. Dave Stewart, Bob Geldorf, ….), speeches and moreSpecial Events will take place in Cairo, Kigali, London, Los Angeles, Mumbai, and Rio de Janeiro.

People are encouraged to host official and local gatherings to join in on this event.

To promote the event idea the organizers have asked several socially active VIP’s to tape small promo clips.

Here is a really cool one from Robin Williams:

The list of films that will be shown is really interesting. Here is one of them, produced by the agency Razorfish that picks up the topic of global warming by making us aware of the global exticinction of “Wild Snowmen”

Sponsor Nokia has launched a special promotion on their OVI sharing platform which encouraged people to produce their own little “mobiel” clips for pangea day. Check out the winners!

Nike (I think Asia) has launched a campaign to promote their line of Nike Training appareal.

The ads follows famous athletes as they follow their training routines.

Here is the official description from Wieden+Kennedy Tokyo:

“We follow the exploits of hoopster Kobe Bryant, tennis greats Roger Federer, Maria Sharapova, and track & field star Liu Xiang as well as boxer Manny Pacquiao, as they perfect their fine bodies to beat any opponent. As the calendar of days, weeks, and months scroll past, we see the determination dripping from our heroes’ brows. The final moments of their victories are revealed as each athlete basks in the glow of victory… not only from the win, but from the long, hard road it took to get there.”

Adidas: New Originals Campaign*

10 03 2008

adidas have launched a new set of online, print and tv related campaign elements for their 2008 collection of ORIGINALS clothing. Things kicked off with a fully “animated” ad by 180 Amsterdam featuring Adi Dassler the founder of adidas (see below).

Here is the official release:

adidas is launching its first global campaign for Adidas Originals lifestyle brand. Developed by 180, the campaign rallies round a series of web videos of people from art, music and athletics. The first effort, which launches this week, spotlights Adidas’ founder, Adi Dassler, in his workshop in Germany. This is also the first time in the company’s 60-year history that its founder has been brought to the fore in adidas advertising.

The campaign is supported by print, TV, in-cinema and web ads leading consumers to the microsite within adidas.com. Pierre Wendling, 180’s digital director, explains that the agency didn’t employ digital animation to resurrect Dassler. Rather, Wendling and his team recreated Dassler’s office in miniature, down to scale model versions of his desk, furniture, tools, and accessories, with ambient street sounds, and radio playing songs of the day in the background.

The originals tend to have a retro feel. The logo is not the three-stripe symbol for adidas Performance, but the adidas trefoil logo introduced in 1971.

He adds that the first of five films won’t be product-focused, while the rest will, each touting the new Originals apparel line. One of the forthcoming films in the series, “Sounds of the City,” will tout a range of Adidas Originals product while highlighting reggae from Jamaica; the Motown sound; Memphis, and New Orleans. Each film ends with the Adidas trefoil transforming into a video sphere on which films about the featured artists and athletes are arrayed, with the “Celebrate Originality” theme

Here are some of the campaign elements…
